Tranås is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Jönköpings län and the historic province of Småland .
General
The place, located on Lake Sommen , is the main town of the municipality of the same name . The Södra stambanan railway line and Reichsstraße 32 run nearby . Not far from the village is Gripenberg Castle , Sweden's largest wooden castle.
Culture
The Eriksberg Museum on Storgatan 54 shows the school development from the 19th century to 1950; the art of Herman Norrman and sculptures by Ansgar Almquist. The fur exhibition “From fur to soft fur” conveys a picture of the so-called “Fur City Tranås”.
