Ove Fundin

Ove Fundin (born May 23, 1933 in Tranås , Sweden ) is a former Swedish speedway driver . He is a five-time individual and six-time team world champion in speedway. He also won a pair world championship.

He began his career in 1951 in the Swedish Speedway League. In 1961 he received the Svenska Dagbladet gold medal as Swedish Sportsman of the Year . In 1970 he ended his career. Many experts consider him the best speedway driver of all time. In his honor, the team world championship trophy was named the Ove Fundin Trophy .
