Ryan Glenn (born June 7, 1980 in Port Coquitlam , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC 05 Banská Bystrica in the Slovak Tipsport Extraliga since January 2019 .
Career
Ryan Glenn played from 2000 to 2004 for the St. Lawrence Saints , the St. Lawrence University ice hockey team , in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In 2001 he won the ECAC conference with the team , was assistant captain in 2002/03 and was elected to the ECAC First All-Star Team in 2004.
From 2004 to 2008 he was active for various teams in the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL , reaching the ECHL Conference semifinals with the Charlotte Checkers in 2005 and the AHL Division Final with the Providence Bruins in 2007 .
In September 2008 Glenn moved to Europe and signed with the Swedish second division club IF Troja-Ljungby , before he ran up in the following season for Södertälje SK from the top division SHL . At the beginning of 2010 he was signed by the Finnish first division club Tampereen Ilves before he joined EC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian ice hockey league in May 2012 and was able to celebrate the European Trophy win with the team .
He spent the following two seasons with Saimaan Pallo and Oulun Kärpät in Finland, where he won the Finnish championship with Kärpät in 2015 .
In 2015/16 he played 28 games for the Finnish club JYP Jyväskylä and 14 games for the Czech club HC Sparta Prague . In 2016/17 he played for the Italian club HC Bozen before he was introduced as a new addition to the Austrian club EC VSV in May 2017 .
For the 2018/19 season, Glenn moved to Fehérvár AV19 . The contract was terminated in January 2019.
At the end of January 2019, HC 05 signed Banská Bystrica to the Slovak club .
