history

In 1934 Schillersdorf was converted into a bomb training area because of the Rechlin test site and the population was forcibly resettled. The village was completely destroyed; only the church tower from 1891 was preserved, albeit badly damaged. It is the only building in Schillersdorf that dates from before 1945. The current church dates from 1952. The village was newly laid out as a street village.
Until 2014, Schillersdorf belonged to the community of Roggentin , but this and its districts were incorporated into Mirow. The forests and meadows around Schillersdorf are still contaminated with ammunition and entry is therefore prohibited.
