Schillersdorfer tar oven

Schillersdorfer Teerofen , also incorrectly called Granzower Teerofen by the local population , is a residential area in the town of Mirow in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).

Geography and transport links

The Schillersdorfer Teerofen is located on the eastern bank of the Großer Kotzower See , which is part of a chain of lakes, over which you can reach the Granzower Möschen and Mirower See in the south and the Leppinsee and the Mössel in the north.

A mostly unpaved road leads from the direction of Granzow to the Schillersdorfer Teerofen. After about 4 km through the Granzower Tannen you will reach Schillersdorf .

The settlement consists of two courtyards with several boathouses and piers.

history

From 1700 to 1844 a tar furnace was in operation here, which gives the place its name.
