Diemitzer Schleuse is a residential area in the town of Mirow in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It is in the Diemitz district . The lock is named after the place .

Geography and transport links

Diemitzer Schleuse is located between the Großer and Kleiner Peetschsee in a wooded area on a canal of the Müritz-Havel waterway , where a lock is located here . It connects the Zotzensee , the Schwarzer See and the Vilzsee with the Labussee and the Rätzsee .

The district road K 5 runs through the village , via which Diemitzer Schleuse is connected to Diemitz and Schwarz (via K 4) as well as Forsthof, Fleether Mühle , Fleeth , Peetsch and after approx. 10 km with Mirow.

The place consists of three courtyards.

The lock was built in the 1880s. Several courtyards were established there.

The lock was renovated in the 1970s.

In 2004 Diemitz and Diemitzer Schleuse were incorporated into Mirow.

There is a large holiday farm with camping facilities on site.
