history

The place name goes back to the Slavic pesuken , which means sandy . In 1270, Peetsch was first mentioned in a document by Prince Nikolaus von Werle . However, the area around Peetsch was already populated during the Iron Age. After the Germanic tribes left the country in the course of the migration, Slavic tribes took possession of the land. Around 1270 Peetsch became the property of the Order of St. John. Before the Thirty Years' War there was a church in Peetsch, but it had to be demolished due to the war damage. The first school is occupied in 1767.

In 1961, Peetsch was incorporated into Mirow.
