Peter Gösta Nicklas Eriksson (born July 12, 1965 in Nässjö ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League from 1984 to 1998 .

Career

Peter Eriksson began his career as a hockey player with HV71 , for whose professional team he made his debut in the second-rate Division 1 in the 1984/85 season . With his team, he immediately achieved promotion to the Elitserien . There the winger stayed another three years with HV71 before moving to the 1989/90 season for the Edmonton Oilers , who had selected him in the fourth round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft as the 64th player. For Edmonton he scored three goals and three assists in 20 games in the National Hockey League . At the same time he also got 21 scorer points in 26 games for Edmonton's farm team Cape Breton Oilers from the American Hockey League .

From 1990 to 1994 Eriksson ran again for the HV71 in the Elitserien. He spent the following three years at IF Troja-Ljungby in the second-rate division 1. The Swede last played in the 1997/98 season for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League . He scored three goals and four assists in 32 games for Bayern. He then ended his career at the age of 33.

International

For Sweden , Eriksson took part in the Canada Cup in 1987 . He was also in his country's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and at the 1989 World Cup . At the Winter Games, he and his team won the bronze medal.
