Morten Green (born March 19, 1981 in Hørsholm ) is a Danish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Rungsted Ishockey from the Metal Ligaen since 2015 .
Career
Morten Green began his career as a hockey player in his Danish homeland with Rungsted IK , for whom he was active in the AL-Bank Ligaen from 1996 to 1999 . He then moved to Leksands IF in the Swedish Elitserien , in which he was in his rookie year , in the 1999/2000 season , five templates in 40 games. Although he was regularly used, the winger joined the IF Troja-Ljungby from the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan for the following two years , before he ran up from 2003 to 2006 for the Elitserien participant MODO Hockey . During this time, the left shooter also played for the second division side Örnsköldsviks SK , IF Sundsvall Hockey and Rögle BK . From 2006 to 2009 Green played back for Leksands IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan, reaching with his team in all three seasons the Kvalserien , but missed in this with the team, respectively the rise. From 2009 to 2012 Green was on the ice for Leksand's league rivals Malmö Redhawks .
After 13 years in Sweden, the striker moved to the German Ice Hockey League for the Hannover Scorpions in the 2012/13 season . The following season the Schwenninger Wild Wings signed him in the DEL.
International
For Denmark , Green took part in the junior division of the U18 B-Junior World Championship 1999 , the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2000 and the U20 Junior C World Championship in 2001 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 1999 , 2000 , 2001 and 2002 and at the A World Championships in 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 . He also played for Denmark in the qualifiers for the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics . He was assistant captain at world championships in 2007, 2009 and 2010 and captain of the Danish national team at world championships in 2011 and 2012.
