The IF Sundsvall Hockey is a Swedish ice hockey team from Sundsvall , which since 2015 again in the second highest Swedish professional league, the HockeyAllsvenskan plays. The club plays its home games in Gärdehov , which has a capacity of 3,300.

The club's women's ice hockey team Wildcats has played in the top Swedish league, the Riksserien , since 2013 .

The parent club of today's ice hockey club was founded on October 31, 1896 by the owner of the local tuna factory as Tunadal IF and was initially a ski and ice skating club. Later sections for athletics, soccer and orienteering were added. The ice hockey section only came into being in 1952.

Between 1990 and 1994 the IF Sundsvall formed a syndicate with Timrå IK , who competed in the second division Division I. Since the dissolution of the syndicate in 1994, IF Sundsvall has belonged continuously to the second division, which has been called HockeyAllsvenskan since 2006 .

In addition to the first men's team, the club runs a women's, a senior, and several hobby and junior teams of all ages. With over 600 members, IF Sundsvall is one of Sweden's largest ice hockey clubs.

Home ground

The Gärdehov ice rink was built in 1996 and has been used by IF Sundsvall for its home games ever since. The originally open ice rink was completed in 1966. The attendance record for this ice rink is 6500 and was set in 1966 when the Swedish national team met Chimik Woskressensk .
