Ron Pasco (born February 3, 1972 in Ottawa , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current coach. Since summer 2019 he has been assistant trainer and sporting director at the Kölner Haien . During his active career he played for the Adler Mannheim , the Kassel Huskies and the Kölner Haie, among others .

Career

The 1.80 m tall winger began his career on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's game operations before playing for various North American minor league teams.

For the 1997/98 season , the left shooter moved to the German champions Adler Mannheim in the DEL, with which he was able to win the championship in the following two years. After a year with the Kassel Huskies in the 1999/00 season , Pasco returned to Mannheim, where he won his third German championship in 2001. In the play-off finals of the 2001/02 season, Adler lost to Pasco's future employer, the Kölner Haien, for whom the Canadian was on the ice for the next two seasons. In 2004 Ron Pasco moved to the 2nd Bundesliga to the SERC Wild Wings , via the EC VSV from Austria he came to the Danish club Rødovre IK during the 2005/06 season .

In the summer of 2007 he moved to the 3rd Swedish league for one season at IF Troja-Ljungby and rose with the team to the HockeyAllsvenskan . In October 2008 he signed a new two-year contract there. For the 2010/11 season, the Canadian received a contract with ATSE Graz , for which the striker went on the ice in the second Austrian division.

Trainer

After Pasco ended his active career in 2011, he became a trainer in the Cologne Haie youth division. For the 2014/15 season he was promoted to assistant coach of the professional team, but already dismissed in October 2014 in the course of the release of the entire coaching staff. From February 2016 until the end of the 2015/16 season he acted under Craig Woodcroft as the Adler Mannheim's assistant coach . In July 2016 he was appointed assistant coach of HK Dinamo Minsk from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) and worked there again under Woodcroft. After the 2016/17 season, Woodcroft's entire coaching staff left the KHL club.

On Feb. 8, 2018 Pasco was the Swiss National division club Lausanne HC  set as an assistant coach.

On June 14, 2019, the Kölner Haie announced Pasco as their new assistant coach. He is also responsible for the sporting management of the club at the Haien.
