The 2005/06 season was the second season of the Elite Series under the name Oddset Ligaen and thus the 21st edition of the highest Danish ice hockey division . Champion was SønderjyskE Ishockey for the fourth time in the club's history .

In the main round, each of the nine teams played a total of 36 games. The eight best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
