In the 1954/55 season , a Danish ice hockey champion was played for the first time . The first Danish champion was the Rungsted IK .

Jutland regional tournament

The Jutland regional tournament was held on February 19, 1955 in Silkeborg . Silkeborg SF qualified for the next day's final tournament by winning the championship in Jutland after victories over Horsens SF (2-1 after extra time in the semifinals) and Esbjerg SK (6-2 in the final).

Final tournament

The champions of the regional tournament in Jutland , Silkeborg SF , as well as two clubs from Zealand, Rungsted IK and KSF Copenhagen, qualified for the final tournament .
