The 2009/10 season was the third season of the Elite Series under the name of AL-Bank Ligaen and thus the 25th edition of the highest Danish ice hockey division . The league consisted of nine teams, including the defending champion SønderjyskE Ishockey , who successfully defended his title and celebrated his sixth championship.

Attendees

After Totempo HvIK had withdrawn its team in the second round due to the insolvency of its main sponsor in the previous season, its successor club, Hvidovre Ligahockey , started playing in the 2009/10 season. There was no replacement for the relegated team from last season, the Herlev Hornets , as all teams from the 1st division did without promotion.
