The 1983/84 season was the 24th season of the 1st division , the highest Danish ice hockey division . Champions became champions for the first time in the history of the Herlev IK .

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 28 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
