The 1973/74 season was the 17th season of the 1st division , the highest Danish ice hockey division . Gladsaxe SF became champion for the fourth time in the club's history . The Frederikshavn White Hawks were relegated to the second division.

In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 18 games. The six best-placed teams qualified for the final round, the first-placed champions. The last placed in the main round rose to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
