The 1990/91 season was the sixth season of the Eliteserien , the highest Danish ice hockey division . Champion was for the fourth time in the history of the Herning IK club . The Rungsted IK rose to the second division.

mode

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 28 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. The last placed rose to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
