Maria Maxwald

Maria Maxwald FMA (* 1965 in Ohlsdorf , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian nun and was Provincial Superior of the Don Bosco Sisters in Austria from 2005 to 2014 .

Life

Maxwald grew up with four brothers and one sister in Obernathal in Ohlsdorf. She attended the Ohlsdorf elementary and secondary school, and then the three-year technical school for economic women professions of the Don Bosco sisters in Vöcklabruck . She trained as an educator and began the novitiate of the Don Bosco sisters in Castelgandolfo in 1987 . After her first profession , she took the opportunity to catch up on her Matura . In addition, she completed a year-long teaching practice and from 1993 to 1999 attended a teaching degree in religious education and German studies at the University of Innsbruck . She then worked as an educator in Stams , was a pedagogical consultant in the Vienna Don Bosco House and German and religion teacher in the Don Bosco schools in Vöcklabruck. In 2005 she became the Provincial Superior of the Don Bosco Sisters of Austria. In 2011 she was confirmed in office. It stayed that way until the new Austro-German province was officially founded on March 25, 2014 and was subsequently replaced by Maria Maul .

Maria Maxwald's sister Regina is also a Don Bosco sister.
