Benjamin Hanowski (born October 18, 1990 in Little Falls , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Kölner Haien in the German Ice Hockey League since April 2017 .

Career

Hanowski began his career in the 2005/06 season with the ice hockey team of Little Falls High School in the Minnesota School League, where he scored 405 points in four seasons, a record that is still valid today. Between 2009 and 2013 he was on the ice for the university team of St. Cloud State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , which is part of the NCAA's game operations , and acted there as captain of the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons Team.

After the National Hockey League - Organization of the Calgary Flames had secured the transfer rights from Hanowski and Kenny Agostino and a first-round draft pick as part of a swap deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins , which in return received long-time NHL player Jarome Iginla , Hanwoski signed in April 2013 a contract with the Flames and a few days later in the game against the Minnesota Wild made his debut in the top division of North America, where the attacker scored his first goal straight away in the 3: 4 defeat. The following season 2013/14 the left-shooter spent mostly with the farm team Abbotsford Heat in the American Hockey League and only came to eleven inserts for the Flames in the NHL. In the next year Hanwoski was only used in the AHL with the successor farm team Adirondack Flames and then decided, due to a lack of prospects in the NHL, to move to Europe, where he joined the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League .

For the 2017/18 season, Hanowski moved within the DEL to the Kölner Haien .
