Taylor Aronson (born December 30, 1991 in Placentia , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been playing the defender's position for the Kölner Haien in the German Ice Hockey League since 2019 .
Career
Aronson first played in the junior team of the Los Angeles Kings and continued his junior career with the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League . In 2010, the attacking defender was drawn in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League . Via the ECHL club Cincinnati Cyclones , which was a farm team in the Nashville franchise from 2007 to 2017 , Aronson earned a regular place in 2014 with the Milwaukee Admirals , the AHL team in the Nashville Predators organization. There he was within his team with 32 and 40 points scorer in two consecutive seasons with the highest points defender. In addition, his 36 assists in the 2015/16 season were the best of all Admirals players.
After a total of 163 AHL games and five years in the Nashville organization, Aronson decided to leave for Europe. He moved to the Continental Hockey League for HK Lada Tolyatti and signed there for a year. He won with the team 21 of 60 season games and was penultimate in the Eastern Conference. This season was not only a sporty but also a challenge for Aronson personally, because in Russia he met a team in which he was the only one who spoke English. The speeches were also given in Russian. Even so, Aronson ended the season with two goals and 13 assists.
On July 24th, 2017 it was announced that Taylor Aronson was moving to the German Ice Hockey League for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers . He signed a one-year contract. On October 24, 2017, the Ice Tigers announced that the contract with Aronson had been extended for another year. For the 2019/20 season, the defender, who was the most offensively successful player of his club in this position with 30 points in the 2017/18 season , switched to league rivals Kölner Haie .
