Alexander Oblinger (born January 17, 1989 in Augsburg ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Kölner Haien in the German ice hockey league since April 2018 .
Career
Alexander Oblinger played from 2004 to 2006 for the junior team of Adler Mannheim in the DNL . He scored 44 scorer points (21 goals) in 67 games. For the 2006/07 season , the right-shooting striker moved to the Kölner Haien , where he was initially mainly used in the DNL team. With the team he won the German championship in the DNL in the final against his former team. He was also given a license for the Haie professional team, which is active in the DEL , but was not used there.
In November 2006, the NHL published its first scouting report for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft . Oblinger was eighth among the German talents.
From the 2007/08 season he played for the Eisbären Berlin , but was mostly used for the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the Oberliga Nord . After the 2008/09 season , the striker moved to the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he only stayed one year. After the season he switched back to the DEL for the 2010/11 season . Oblinger signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers . After two years he left the Ice Tigers and joined the ERC Ingolstadt . In his first season with the Upper Bavaria they reached the playoff quarter-finals, in the 2013/14 season Oblinger and his team became German champions. After two years in Ingolstadt, the right-shooter returned to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers. After another two-year engagement in Nuremberg, Oblinger left the Ice Tigers after the 2015/16 season and joined the Straubing Tigers .
International
At the U-18 World Cup in 2006 , Oblinger made his first tournament appearance for a DEB selection and managed to stay in the league with the national team, but remained without a scorer point in all six games. In 2009 he was nominated for the U20 Junior World Championship and scored an assist in six games in the German U20 team .
