Attendees

The athletic relegated Mosquitos Essen remained in the league, since a descent of the corporation to the 2nd Bundesliga was not possible for legal reasons. This was decided by the arbitration tribunal of the German Ice Hockey Federation after a complaint by mosquitoes. The Starbulls Rosenheim sold their corporation to the second division Iserlohn Roosters before the season . Also new to the league was the champions of the 2nd Bundesliga , the Düsseldorfer EG .
