Todd Bradley Hlushko (born February 7, 1970 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player . Since May 2016 he has been working as a scout for the DEL club Adler Mannheim .

He played in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers , the Calgary Flames and the Pittsburgh Penguins . In the DEL he was active for the Kölner Haie , the Adler Mannheim and the Hannover Scorpions .

Player career

The 1.80 m tall winger began his career with various teams in the Canadian Junior League OHL before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft as 240th in the twelfth round of the Washington Capitals .

His first NHL use but graduated from the links Sagittarius until the 1993/94 season for the Philadelphia Flyers, for which he spent two years with the Baltimore Skipjacks , an AHL - farm team of the capital, was transferred. After a year with the Flyers, Hlushko moved to the Calgary Flames, but even here he did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player in four years, which did not change at his last NHL station, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

For the 1999/00 season , the Canadian signed a contract with the Kölner Haien from the German Ice Hockey League , followed by four seasons with the Adler Mannheim, with which he won the German championship in 2001, among other things . Hlushko ended his professional career in 2005 with the Hannover Scorpions, after which he played for various Canadian amateur teams.

International

With the Canadian national ice hockey team Todd Hlushko won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in 1994 , he also played the ice hockey world championship in 1995 and won bronze with Team Canada.

After the playing career

Hlushko appears on radio and television stations in Canada, among other things as an analyst for the games of the Toronto Maple Leafs . In May 2016 he was appointed representative and scout in North America by the Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
