The 1967/68 season of the ice hockey Bundesliga was the tenth season of the Bundesliga , the highest German ice hockey league . German champion was EV Füssen , which won its 13th title. The defending champion Düsseldorfer EG only finished fourth in the final round. In the relegation, SG Oberstdorf / Sonthofen could not hold the class, but SC Riessersee managed to return to the top division. The second promoter was the Augsburg EV .

The relegated FC Bayern Munich and the team from Eintracht Frankfurt were also qualified for the following season due to the increase in the league from ten to twelve clubs . With the increase in the league and the associated rise of the two teams from major German cities, the German Ice Hockey Federation hoped to establish ice hockey in the metropolitan regions, which should mean a further development of the sport.

As in the previous year, the Bundesliga was initially played with five teams in two seasons, the Bundesliga West and the Bundesliga South . The three best teams after the preliminary round then played the German champions in a single-track double round. The three last-placed clubs played in a regionally divided relegation round against the best teams in the Oberliga North and South for their place in the Bundesliga. In contrast to the previous season, the two Bundesliga groups were only played as single rounds, while the final round and the relegation rounds were played as double rounds. In addition, the number of the respective relegation round participants was increased to six teams, so that now the upper league fourths were allowed to participate in the round.

The two winners of the relegation rounds then played for the DEV Cup .
