Heather Hunter (* 1. October 1969 in New York City as Heather Keisha Hunter ) is a former American porn actress , dancer and singer .

Career as a porn actress

Hunter was one of the most famous African-American porn actresses of the 1990s. Before her career as a porn actress, she worked as a dancer in the American MTV series Soul Train and as a freelance dancer and stripper . In her hometown of New York City, she was approached by the porn actress Hyapatia Lee whether she would not like to act in a porn film . She shot her first film on her 18th birthday. After starring in several hardcore films, she moved to Los Angeles, where she appeared in around 50 films between 1988 and 1999.

Hunter became the first African-American actress for the production company Vivid Video . In 2003 she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.

In 2004, Heather Hunter was portrayed as one of 30 famous porn stars by American photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders in his book XXX: 30 Porn-Star Portraits and his HBO documentary Thinking XXX .

Hunter starred in Spike Lee's film He Got Game in 1998 and in the 1990 film Frankenhooker . On May 11, 1991, she made a guest appearance on the Howard Stern Show. She can also be seen in the music video for How Do You Want It by rapper Tupac Shakur .

Ten years after her porn career, she began a career as a singer and rapper . She made her debut with the single I Want It All Night Long , which was released on Island Records . In 1993 Hunter was signed to Tommy Boy Records and released a house album. She later switched to hip-hop and worked with rapper Akinyele . Hunter also sings on the album Grimey: God's Favorite by rapper NORE .

She was briefly in a relationship with comedian Bill Maher and actor Charlie Sheen .
