Internet Adult Film Database
The Internet Adult Film Database ( Acronym : IAFD ) is an internet - database that contains information about porn stars and movies and their directors includes. It is publicly accessible and searchable. According to its own information, the database contains over 300,000 films and over 170,000 actors.
The IAFD began as an idea of the Dutchman Peter van Aarle (1962-2005), a moderator of the newsgroup rec.arts.movies.erotica, who had been collecting data on porn films since 1981 and continued to contribute until his death in 2005. In 1995 a first version of the IAFD was briefly available on the Internet. In 1999 the company restarted with its own domain and in cooperation with the website of rec.arts.movies.erotica. Since van Aarle's death, the database has been maintained by a group of volunteers.
