Josef Völk (born December 3, 1948 in Emmenhausen , Lower Saxony ) is a former German ice hockey player .

Career

Josef Völk began his career as an ice hockey player at EV Füssen , for whose professional team he was active in the ice hockey Bundesliga from 1967 to 1976 . With Bayern he won the German championship title in 1968, 1969, 1971 and 1973 . The defender then spent five years at league rivals VfL Bad Nauheim before playing for Füssen again from 1981 to 1983. Most recently, the three-time Olympian competed in the 1983/84 season for EC Oberstdorf in the southern relay of the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . After the season he ended his career at the age of 35.

International

For Germany , Völk took part in the B World Championships in 1969 , 1970 and 1975 and the A World Championships in 1971 , 1972 , 1973 , 1976 and 1977 . In addition, he was in the German squad at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 , in Sapporo in 1972 and in Innsbruck in 1976 . His greatest international success was winning the bronze medal with Germany at the 1976 Winter Games. For this success he received the Silver Laurel Leaf together with the German Olympic ice hockey team .
