Emmen Hausen is a district of the borough Bovenden in the district of Goettingen in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Emmenhausen lies in the west of the municipality, above the southern bank slope of the Harste brook and is surrounded by Harste in the north, Lenglern in the east, Esebeck in the south and peas in the west.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1093 . The entire property has belonged to the Lippoldsberg Monastery on the Weser since the 14th century . After the Reformation the land was owned by the Guelphs . From 1418 on, Emmenhausen belonged to the district of the Harste Office. When this office was dissolved on July 1, 1823, Emmenhausen came under the jurisdiction of the Bovenden office established in 1815.

On January 1, 1973 Emmenhausen was incorporated into the Bovenden district.

According to a dendrochronological examination (annual ring analysis) by the Georg-August University of Göttingen on November 16, 1979, the over 30 m high oak germinated on the western edge of the town in 1462. "The large, free-standing tree with a very even, spreading crown" characterizes the area and is a natural monument According to the list of natural monuments in the district of Göttingen from June 24, 2011.

The remains of the strongest linden tree from the Bovenden area can be found at Emmenhäuser Tie. In several half-timbered buildings and courtyards that are classified as historical monuments, including one from standing Schönhagen translocated half-timbered house. The list of architectural monuments of the village includes eight objects ( monument topography Federal Republic of Germany , as of 1993). There is no church in Emmenhausen.
