Esebeck is the northwesternmost district of the university town of Göttingen and forms a locality together with Elliehausen .
history
In the Vita Meinwerci , a place called Asbiki was first mentioned in 1036 . Whether it is Esebeck or Esbeck bei Lippstadt is assessed differently. Another documentary mention can be found in the first half of the 12th century as Esebeke in the Mainz document book. The property of the Counts of Dassel in Esebeck is documented for the 13th century , which they sold to the Lords of Rosdorf in 1279. On the occasion of the municipal reform , Esebeck was incorporated into the district town of Göttingen on January 1, 1973. Today the place is mainly a residential community with a few farms.
