Südstadt (Göttingen)
The Südstadt is one of 18 districts of the Lower Saxony university town of Göttingen . It borders directly to the south of the Göttingen city center .
The direct neighbors of the Südstadt district are - clockwise from the west - the Göttingen districts Grone , Weststadt , Innenstadt, Oststadt , Geismar and the community of Rosdorf belonging to the Göttingen district .
In the southern part of the city, 18,039 people live in an area of 3.74 km² (as of 2014). With this number of inhabitants, the southern part of the city of Göttingen is in 3rd place.
Sights include the ensemble of buildings designed by Diez Brandi for the Herman-Nohl-Schule and the neighboring HG-Junior (a branch of the Hainberg-Gymnasium ) on Immanuel-Kant-Straße and the neighboring Kreuzkirche, also designed by Brandi .
