Spanbeck part of the spots Bovenden in Lower Saxony . This village lies between the Nörtener Wald, Gillersheimer Forst and Pleßforst north of the Lippberge .

history

The agricultural Spanbeck was first mentioned in 1284 as "Spadenbeke". The basis of the place name is the name of the stream flowing through the village, which today is called Springe in its upper course, then Pletze and then Mühlengraben in the lower course. Spanbeck has belonged to the territory of Castle Plesse since the Middle Ages . In the northeast there was a settlement called Aspe, which was mentioned as early as 1050 and of which remains of the vaulting bakers have been preserved in the forest .

On January 1, 1973, Spanbeck was incorporated into the Bovenden district.

The local mayor of Spanbeck is Klaus-Dieter Stümpel ( SPD ).
