The 1989/90 season of the ice hockey Bundesliga was the 32nd and last season in which only West German teams took part. The Düsseldorfer EG celebrated their fourth German championship after a 15-year break . After DEG moved into the play-off final as the winner of the preliminary round, the defending champion SB Rosenheim was defeated there.
