Jürgen Schulz (born January 7, 1970 ) is a former German ice hockey player .

Career

Jürgen Schulz began his career in 1988 at Düsseldorfer EG . After he only made 23 appearances during his time in Düsseldorf , he was forced to change clubs due to the lack of sporting prospects.

At first he was drawn to EC Ratingen , where he was only able to convince in his second season and was part of the regular squad. Then Schulz moved back to the 1st Bundesliga , to the Cologne EC . Here, too, he was able to convince, but only stayed one season with the cathedral townspeople and returned to Ratingen in the middle of the 1993/94 season .

In the following six years, Schulz changed clubs several times. Stations were among others the ERC Westfalen Dortmund and the EV Duisburg in the 1st League North . For the 2002/03 season he moved again to the Rhineland in Ratingen, where the people in charge of the Ratinger Ice Aliens signed him. With the Ice Alien he was able to win regional league champions in 2005 and then rose to the top division. A year later, Jürgen Schulz ended his active ice hockey career at the age of 36.

Miscellaneous

Jürgen Schulz completed seven international matches for the German junior national team during his time at Düsseldorfer EG , in which he scored an assist and received nine penalty minutes.

The ice hockey magazine Eishockey News named Schulz three times as the best defender in the Regionalliga NRW between 2001 and 2004 .
