The Hockey News (short EHN own spelling Hockey NEWS ) is the highest circulation of the German Hockey trade journals . It has been published every Tuesday since 1993 and is based in Straubing . The publisher is MZV Moderner Zeitschriften Vertrieb .
construction
The layout of the newspaper is based on the three strongest German ice hockey leagues, the DEL , the DEL2 and the Oberliga . In the upper division there are also reports on the amateur leagues organized by the regional associations, the DNL and the women's ice hockey league . There are also reports on the National Hockey League and international ice hockey leagues.
Since February 2011 the newspaper has been published in tabloid format with a volume of 72 pages per week.
Special issues
The Ice Hockey News are now publishing special issues for the three strongest German ice hockey leagues at the start of the season:
- DEL (since 1996/97)
- 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga / DEL2 (since 1996/97)
- Oberliga (since 2005/06)
Shortly before the play-offs begin in all leagues , the best players in all leagues are awarded and presented in a special issue since 1999. From 1998/99 to 2004/05 there was also an annual special about European ice hockey events and another one about North America. An international special was published annually from 2004/05 to 2014. A preview booklet for the NHL has been published annually since 2008/09. At the end of the season, an annual review has been published since 1996/97.
ESBG Allstar Game
During the event, the readers of the EHN were able to choose players from the second division and the upper division for the teams of the ESBG Allstar Games . After the event, the newspaper also offered the jerseys for sale.
Ice hockey prices
The EHN annually awards the awards for ice hockey player of the year , goalkeeper of the year , best defender , best outsider , best center forward , rookie of the year , coach of the year , manager of the year . The winners are determined in a survey among coaches, managers, ex-national players and specialist journalists from the respective league locations. They are determined and awarded separately for the DEL , DEL2 and Oberliga .
