Devin Edgerton (born June 12, 1970 in Kindersley , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Austrian Bundesliga club EC VSV .
Career
The 1.82 m tall center began his career with the Humboldt Broncos in the Canadian Junior League Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League before he was signed by the Peoria Rivermen from the International Hockey League . In Peoria, as well as after his move to the Atlanta Knights , the left-handed shooter initially played for various farm teams in the East Coast Hockey League , Edgerton's last IHL station before moving to Europe was the Phoenix Roadrunners from Arizona .
In 1996 the Canadian moved to SC Herisau in the Swiss National League B , with which he was promoted to the first division in the first season . After the direct relegation a year later he was drawn to the master EV Zug , for which he was on the ice for one season and then moved to the DEL to the Frankfurt Lions . For the Lions, he completed one season and then went to the 2000/01 season to the Adler Mannheim , with whom he in the first year German champion was. Edgerton played 274 games for the Adler in six years, which puts him in ninth place in the club's best list. Edgerton was criticized by the fans in his last season in Mannheim, as he explained the bad game of his team by saying that they would reach the play-offs anyway and that their true capabilities would then be shown there. After the 2005/06 season failed for Mannheim by missing the play-offs , the Canadian finally moved to Austria to EC VSV.
During his career, Edgerton was also active for the Anaheim Bullfrogs and Atlanta Fire Ants in Roller Hockey International . With Anaheim he won the championship in 1993 and thus the Murphy Cup.
