Mika Sinuhe Wallinheimo (born March 9, 1972 in Jyväskylä , Finland ) is a former Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper , who during his career a. a. played in the Finnish SM-liiga , American Hockey League , the German Ice Hockey League and the Swedish Elitserien . Since April 2011 he has been a member of the Finnish Parliament of the National Collection Party .
Career
Wallinheimo began his career in the 1989/90 season with JYP Jyväskylä in the Finnish SM-liiga . In the 1992/93 season Wallinheimo played for HIFK Helsinki in the SM-liiga and Junior SM-liiga, as well as for Karhu-Kissat Helsinki in the 1st division . A year later he went to North America and played for three years in the National Collegiate Athletic Association for the University of Denver from the state of Colorado .
He then moved to the American Hockey League for the Hershey Bears , but was also used in the East Coast Hockey League with the Mobile Mysticks , who cooperated with the Bears. Also in the 1997/98 season he first played in the ECHL with the Mississippi Sea Wolves , before he came back to the AHL for missions with the Springfield Falcons .
In the following season Wallinheimo played again in Finland for the SM-liiga club Rauman Lukko and from the 1999/2000 season three years in Germany. Wallinheimo first joined EHC Neuwied from the 2nd Bundesliga , but they filed for bankruptcy in the current season . Due to his good performance, he quickly found a new club in the Revierlöwen Oberhausen , for which he played in the German ice hockey league for the next two and a half years . In the summer of 2002 the Revierlöwen was denied a license for the 2003/04 DEL season . Wallinheimo was forced to leave the club. The Finn then played for two years in Sweden at Färjestad BK in the Elitserien , with which he reached the championship finals in both years.
Since the 2004/05 season he played again in Finland for his hometown club JYP Jyväskylä, but moved to HK Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Super League in the 2007/08 season . For the 2008/09 season he returned to Jyväskylä and won the championship of the SM-liiga.
Wallinheimo was appointed by the Finnish Association in the Finnish national team for the Ice Hockey World Championship 2007 , but remained without World Cup use.

Wallinheimo successfully ran for the conservative and economically liberal National Collection Party in the 2011 parliamentary election .
