Gordon Ross "Gord" Hynes (born July 22, 1966 in Montréal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League and the Schwenninger Wild Wings , Adler Mannheim and Berlin Capitals in the German Hockey League played.

Career

The 1.83 m tall defender began his career with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft as 115th in the sixth round by the Boston Bruins .

First, the left-handed shooter played for various Boston farm teams in the American Hockey League and for HC Varese in the Italian Serie A , before he completed his first NHL appearances for the Bruins in the 1991/92 season . In 1992 Hynes moved to the Philadelphia Flyers, but here too he did not make the permanent jump into the regular squad, so that in 1995 he moved to the Schwenninger Wild Wings in the German Ice Hockey League . After two years with the Wild Wings, the Canadian switched to the Adler in Mannheim, with whom he was three times German champion between 1998 and 2001 . Finally he left the Adler in the direction of Berlin Capitals , where he ended his career after the 2001/02 season.

International

With the Canadian national ice hockey team , Hynes won the silver medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics , and he also played other international games between 1988 and 1992.
