The Karlskrona HK is a 2001 founded Swedish Hockey Club from Karlskrona . The team plays in the second highest Swedish ice hockey league HockeyAllsvenskan and plays its home games in the Karlskrona arena .

history

The club was founded in 2001. In the 2007/08 season , the team prevailed in the relegation and rose to the third class Division 1 for the first time . In the 2010/11 season , the team missed the leap into the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan in the relegation as third place due to one point behind . In the following season , Karlskrona HK was the first to prevail in the relegation. In the 2012/13 season the team took part in the first HockeyAllsvenskan. After the main round ended in last place, the club had to go to the qualifying round to stay in the HockeyAllsvenskan. Thanks to one point ahead of the descending Tingsryds AIF , the team secured their place in the league. In the following season, after a solid season, they just missed participation in the Kvalserien . Instead, the team from southern Sweden surprisingly achieved promotion to the Svenska Hockeyligan , the country's elite class, a year later in the 2014/15 season . In the promotion playoffs you could prevail 3-1 in the series against the main round winner VIK Västerås HK . This was the first time in the club's young history that Karlskrona HK competed in the Swedish first division. At the end of the 2017/18 season Karlskrona had to go into relegation as 14th and was subject to Timrå IK , so that the 2018/19 season began again in the second Swedish league HockeyAllsvenskan.
