Nicholas Angell (born October 31, 1979 in Duluth , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who is currently under contract with the Swedish club Karlskrona HK in HockeyAllsvenskan .

Career

Nicholas Angell began his career at the University of Minnesota in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The defender spent four seasons there, winning the college championship in 2002 before joining the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League . This put him in the 2002/03 season but mainly with the Rockford IceHogs in the United Hockey League .

Then in 2003 Angell moved to Sweden to IFK Arboga IK in the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan . After a stint in Norway in the 2004/05 season with the Frisk Tigers , the American returned to Sweden for the 2005/06 season. The defender came to Elitserien club Brynäs IF in the summer of 2006 via Bofors IK from Allsvenskan, where he played for two years. In addition, the defender played 13 games for Tappara Tampere from the Finnish SM-liiga during this time . For the 2008/09 game year , the US-American moved within the elite series to the then master HV 71 Jönköping . The right-handed shooter also appeared in three games in the Champions Hockey League for the top Swedish club . For the 2009/10 season , the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League signed him for one year. After the contract expired, Angell signed a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk , for which he played until January 2011. He was then signed by HK Awangard Omsk . In May 2011 Angell signed a contract with the Eisbären Berlin , valid for the 2011/12 season .
