Anaphrodisia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anaphrodisie (from gr. Toggle , negative indicator, and -aphrodisie , after the love goddess Aphrodite ) is a medical technical term. It denotes the instinctuality (contrary to the libido ) and the disinterest of humans or animals in sexual things. In non-medical parlance, the term is used extremely rarely to characterize a "reduced sensation of lust". In veterinary medicine, the term is mainly used for unobserved sexual cycles ("silent heat ").

Medical reasons for anaphrodisia can be diseases of the central nervous system . Often anaphrodisia is also a side effect of advancing age.
