Calder Cup playoffs

mode

The eight best teams each qualified for the playoffs in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference . From each division, four of the best four teams qualified for the playoffs. Only the fifth placed in the larger New England Division and Empire State Division were excluded from the playoffs, regardless of the season's performance. So it happened that the team Beast of New Haven with 78 points as fifth in the New England Division in the regular season was better than four later playoff participants, but the season was over for them.

In the first three playoff rounds, the winners of the Eastern and Western divisions were played, which then met in the final of the Calder Cup. While the first playoff round was played in best-of-five mode, all other play-offs and the final were played in best-of-seven mode.
