Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award
The Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award is an ice hockey trophy in the American Hockey League . It has been awarded annually since 1948 to the goalkeeper with the lowest number of goals conceded . It is assumed that the goalkeeper has played at least 25 games. Before 1972, the goalkeeper must have played at least half of all games.
The trophy was named after Hap Holmes , who was one of the best goalkeepers in North America during the founding years of the National Hockey League . He won the Stanley Cup with different teams, including Toronto and Seattle .
