Marc Lamothe (born February 27, 1974 in New Liskeard , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who was last under contract with the Hamburg Freezers in the German Ice Hockey League until November 2010 .
Career
Marc Lamothe began his career in 1991 in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs . In the 1992 NHL Entry Draft , the Montréal Canadiens selected him in the fourth round in 92nd place.
In 1994 he finally moved to the professional field in the American Hockey League to the Fredericton Canadiens , where he only played one season. From 1996 to 1999 he played for the Indianapolis Ice . In the 1999/2000 season Lamothe completed two games for the Chicago Blackhawks . Another station in the National Hockey League were the Detroit Red Wings from 2003 to 2004. In total, he only played four games in the NHL, otherwise he played in the lower North American leagues. In 2004 Lamothe came to Russia for Lokomotive Yaroslavl and made 64 assignments in the 2004/05 season . After only one season he moved to Severstal Tscherepowez and played 91 games in two seasons. The Canadian spent the 2007/08 season at SKA Saint Petersburg . At Barys Astana from Kazakhstan , the goalkeeper was under contract in the 2008/09 season in the newly established Continental Hockey League .
After that, he was initially without a contract before he was signed in November 2009 by the Pelicans Lahti from the Finnish SM-liiga . For the 2010/11 season Lamothe signed a contract with the Hamburg Freezers from the DEL . In November 2010 his contract with the Freezers was terminated by mutual agreement.
