AHL All-Star Team
The AHL All-Star Team are two compilations of the best players in their respective positions in the North American ice hockey league American Hockey League , who have been named annually at the end of the regular season since the 1937/38 season . A distinction is made between the First All-Star Team and the Second All-Star Team .
Both teams usually consist of a goalkeeper , two defenders and three forwards . The storm row is divided into a center forward and a left and right winger.
The Canadian defender Jim Morrison , who found himself a total of eight times in one of the two teams between 1962 and 1972 , received the most nominations for both All-Star teams. A total of seven nominations were made for the Second All-Star Team . Most appeals to the First All-Star team were Johnny Bower , Frank Mathers , Fred Glover and Pete Backor . The four players each found themselves on the team five times.
