During the NHL lockout in the 2004/05 season , the Italian-Canadian played hockey for the Italian Serie A1 club Asiago Hockey . He left the Capitals during the 2006/07 season for Germany and joined the Adler Mannheim , with whom he won the German championship . Fata, considered one of the fastest players in the league is true, had a contract in Mannheim until 2009. In September 2008, his contract was terminated with immediate effect and he joined the EHC Biel in the Swiss National League A . After he no longer received a contract for the 2011/12 season, he moved to league rivals Genève-Servette HC , where he signed a one-year contract. For the 2013/14 season, Fata was signed by the Finnish first division club Helsingfors IFK from the Finnish Liiga , but released after a few weeks. Then he ended his career.
