Michael John "Mike" Kaszycki (born February 27, 1956 in Milton , Ontario ) is a former Canadian - Swiss ice hockey player who played 245 games for the New York Islanders , Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple in the course of his active career between 1974 and 1989 Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL) on the position of the center .
Career
Mike Kaszycki was a talented player during his junior years. In his last season, 1975/76, he made it to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to 170 points scorer. Both professional leagues were so become aware of him and he was from the New York Islanders at the NHL Amateur Draft in 1976 pulled in the second round as the 32nd, while in the fourth round of the WHA Amateur Draft as the 38th of the New England Whalers selected .
For the 1977/78 season, the Islanders then brought him to the NHL, but in his three years there he could not really assert himself. Even after moving to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Gord Lane , he wasn't much more successful. Even at his third and last NHL station, the Toronto Maple Leafs , where he had moved in exchange for Pat Ribble , he was not more successful.
So Kaszycki came to SC Langnau during the 1984/85 season . Thanks to a grandmother on his mother's side, he soon received Swiss citizenship and subsequently no longer required a foreign license. In his career he played for HC Ambrì-Piotta , Lausanne Hockey Club and EV Zug . After the end of his career, Kaszycki returned to his Canadian homeland.
