J. Ross Robertson Cup
The J. Ross Robertson Cup is a trophy of the Ontario Hockey League for the winner of the play-offs and thus champion of the OHL. It was donated by John Ross Robertson and named after him. Robertson was President of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1899 to 1905 .
Originally the trophy was presented to the winner of the OHA Junior Playoffs. Since the 1933/34 season it has been rededicated and given to the Junior A Master of the OHA. The first winner after that was the Toronto St. Michael's Majors . In a new division of the highest junior leagues in Ontario in 1972/73, the cup remained in the higher Junior A league of the OHA, which later became the OMJHL and in 1980 the OHL.
