The Bobby Smith Trophy is a trophy of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). It has been awarded annually since 1980 to the OHL player who best combines good playful performance with school or academic success. It is named after Bobby Smith , who was active for the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League from 1975 to 1978 and who distinguished himself through these characteristics. Every player nominated by his team for this award is automatically included in the OHL All-Scholastic team for the respective season. In addition, the trophy winner has been voting for CHL Scholastic Player of the Year since 1988 .

The Bobby Smith Trophy is comparable to the Ivan Tennant Memorial Award and the Roger Neilson Memorial Award , with these two distinguishing success in school regardless of the level of play.
