history

The Hamilton Steelhawks were relocated from Hamilton , Ontario to Niagara Falls , Ontario in 1988 and renamed Niagara Falls Thunder. Already in their first season the team reached the final of the J. Subsequently, however, Niagara Falls did not get beyond the playoff quarter-finals and even missed the playoffs in the 1993/94 season.

After eight years, the franchise was relocated to Erie , Pennsylvania , USA , in 1996 , where it has since been active in the OHL under the name Erie Otters .
