The Hamilton Steelhawks were a Canadian ice hockey team from Hamilton , Ontario . The team played from 1984 to 1988 in one of the top three Canadian junior ice hockey leagues, the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

history

The Brantford Alexanders were relocated to Hamilton , Ontario in 1984 and renamed the Hamilton Steelhawks. The name was chosen because of the steel industry in the region.

In their four seasons in the OHL, the Steelhawks missed the playoffs only in the 1985/86 season as the last of their division. Her greatest achievement was reaching the Conference semifinals in 1985 and 1988.

After only four years, the franchise was relocated to Niagara Falls , Ontario , in 1988 , where it was subsequently active in the OHL under the name Niagara Falls Thunder .
